We are happy to provide women’s services at Stress Care of NJ.
Some of the women’s services provided include:
Birth control consultations, HPV vaccinations, pap smears, pregnancy tests, and the evaluation and treatment of urinary tract infections, bladder infections, and yeast infections. Stress Care of NJ is unable to perform mammograms at this time, but we are happy to provide referrals if necessary.
Birth Control
While Stress Care of NJ can provide in-person consultation about birth control, we recommend consulting with an OB-GYN if you have never successfully taken oral contraceptives before. Following the CDC’s guidance that the choice of birth control should be personalized based on each patient’s use and medical history, we generally do not initiate patients’ prescriptions with birth control. However, we are happy to provide prescriptions for oral contraception to patients who have selected Stress Care of NJ as a primary care physician (PCP) and are experiencing problems with a current contraceptive or facing a lapse between prescriptions. Unfortunately, we are not able to insert intrauterine devices or intradermal implants. If you are seeking these or other non-pill forms of contraception, you should consult with your OB-GYN.
HPV Vaccine
Young adults between ages 9 and 26 are able to receive the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to protect themselves against certain types of cancers that are potentially caused by the HPV virus. The vaccination must be administered on two or three separate instances over the course of six months.
Pap Smear
Pap smears are available at Stress Care of NJ. Anyone between ages 21 and 65 and who has a cervix should get a pap smear once every three years to screen for cervical cancer, unless recommended otherwise by a medical professional. Once your pap test results are received (generally within a week), you will be notified quickly.
Pregnancy Tests
At Stress Care of NJ, we are able to perform urine and blood pregnancy tests. Our on-site lab testing will get your results back to you quickly. Based on the outcome of the test, we can answer questions, provide support, or direct you to specialists for follow-up appointments.
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
Stress Care of NJ is able to evaluate symptoms for UTIs including bladder infections and kidney infections. We will perform on-site urine testing and send a sample out for a urine culture to determine which bacteria is causing the infection and ensure you are receiving the appropriate treatment.
Yeast Infections
Stress Care of NJ is able to help women who think they may have infections including yeast and bacterial infections. It is important to see a medical professional if you think you may have a yeast infection. Your provider may perform lab testing and may also provide prescription drugs on-site during your visit.
